A century ago Scott launched his ill-fated expedition to the South Pole from Cardiff, the town that had raised most money for the trip. To commemorate the connection, Cardiff Council has given its Chelsea garden the theme of "exploration".
Created by Cardiff-based designer Elfed Evans, the garden contains bands of planting to represent the lines of latitude and an outline map of the pole engraved in Welsh slate.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Cardiff has had a garden at Chelsea. Last year, Aston led an expedition of eight women who skied to the South Pole.
