The target for 2009 will nudge the National Community Forests & Woodlands Project nearer its tree target of 800,000.
"Since the project launched in 2006 we have planted 195,000 forestry tree whips for businesses and individuals," said project manager Richard Thorpe.
"And despite the economic downturn, 2009 will see a further 250,000 trees planted. Each dedicated or sponsored tree planted is costed at £1.75."
Four charities - Teenage Cancer Trust, Barnardo`s, Help for Heroes and McMillan Cancer Support - would share £57,000, he said.
"Horticulture, excess CO2 emissions and the environment touch our daily lives. Everyone can do their bit with a tree gift or a carbon-offset tree."
