Mills, who is three quarters of the way towards obtaining the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) Professional Diploma in Arboriculture, has 13 years of tree management experience in local authorities and as a consultant.
His new role will involve new business development for Capita Symonds' Countryside Management Services across the region.
Based in Wolverhampton, his initial project is to work with Continental Landscapes and Wolverhampton Homes to develop tree management strategies that will deliver sustainable tree amenity on housing estates across the city.
Mills said: "My appointment presents an exciting opportunity to apply my arboricultural knowledge across Capita Symonds' diverse range of projects."
