Campaign Plants 2009 promotion starts this month

The award-winning Campaign Plants promotion aiming to inspire consumers to purchase "good garden plants" by displaying them in an "inspiring lifestyle" setting is starting up again this month.

The company responsible, the Bransford Webbs Plant Company, which was awarded the Best Retail Promotion at the Garden Retail Awards 2008, is supplying Primula ‘Woodland Walk' to garden centres from now until the end of February. The plant has bronze foliage and pink flowers and thus can create impact in the early season.

Garden centre staff are asked to create a creative planteria display, using the Campaign Plants, larger-than-average point-of-sale boards and "table talkers" for restaurants. The garden centre judged as providing the best display receives a bottle of champagne, with £250 vouchers for the overall winner in 2009.

The other Campaign Plants are Dianthus ‘Tickled Pink' and D. ‘Passion', Fuchsia ‘Janie', Leucanthemum ‘Aglaia' and Sedum ‘Rose Carpet.'
