Buyout broadens Ground Control's business options

Ground Control has bought Vale Contract Services to make inroads into local authority, public sector and social housing work.

Ground Control said it would continue to develop its business in the commercial market, serving retailers and utility firms, and hoped the combined turnover would hit £35m.

Vale Contract Services will see the founders - managing director Andrew Spink and finance director Tania Spink - continue in their roles. There will no job loses, Andrew insisted.

The company holds contracts in the North West and the Midlands and has a landscape-construction division, also in the North West.

Andrew Spink said: "We will be able to share expertise and best practice and take advantage of the synergies that can be achieved by such a venture."

Ground Control managing director Simon Morrish added: "We've enjoyed strong growth over the past six years and have a 99.2 per cent annual client site retention rate."
