British dessert apples break 100,000-tonne sales barrier

Sales of British dessert apples to the multiples broke through the 100,000-tonne barrier in the season just ended, with a 2.3 per cent rise on last year's figure, according to English Apples & Pears chief executive Adrian Barlow.
