Brit export success at Spoga+gafa

After exhibiting at the 2011 spoga+gafa international garden and leisure trade show in Cologne in September, many British firms are anticipating increases in export sales.

The 27-strong British group was organised by the Gardenex UK export federation.

One of the exhibitors, Solus, described this year’s spoga+gafa as ‘the best show ever’ with the company receiving its largest order ever at an exhibition.

Bosmere Products, exhibiting for the 29th year at spoga+gafa stated that the company had received double the enquiries and many orders at the show compared with last year.

The company has also opened new accounts since the show and an existing German mail order company has extended its listings of Bosmere’s products.

Buyers attracted to the British pavilion included independent and multiple garden, DIY and leisure retailers, mail order companies, wholesalers, internet retailers and landscapers.

Vegtrug has three Swiss companies vying for distribution of the company’s raised bed vegetable growing systems, and also saw potential Dutch distributors.  Burgon & Ball held discussions with a potential New Zealand distributor, and DriBox and Textice also met with potential distributors

Apart from the thousands of enquiries now being followed up by the UK exhibitors, some firms are already making deliveries of orders taken at the show.  These include 2,000 units ordered from Waspinator for its wasp repellent systems, and Haws is sending metal and plastic watering cans to customers in Germany and Austria.
