Blue Peter gardener Chris Collins is to be the new face of Thompson & Morgan on TV.

He and Michael Perry will be main presenters.

Collins starts on 8 February at midday and 5pm, then appears again on 11 February at 5pm.

Thompson & Morgan has ended its partnership with television shopping channel QVC to become the sole supplier for Ideal Shopping Direct and sole plant supplier for Ideal World TV.

Collins said since the BBC moved to Salford from London in 2012, there was less gardening on Blue Peter, though he has moved the garden to MediaCity.

He said on Blue Peter that there has not been any gardening on the CBeebies show since last summer and there was none planned at present.

The presenter is also appearing at the Edible Garden Show at Alexandra Palace from 28-30 March.
