Big Dig gathers momentum as Morrisons extends school garden voucher scheme

Supermarket chain Morrisons has launched an extension to its Let's Grow schools voucher programme, with 100,000 people helping build school gardens this month as part of the Big Dig.

Some 5,000sq m of gardens will be created at 340 schools across the UK in April, using tools and seeds given away by Morrisons as part of the initiative.

Some crops sown as part of the Big Dig will be harvested for the Eden Project-organised Big Lunch, scheduled for 3 June during the Queen's jubilee weekend.
