Bianca Jagger calls for sustainable living to prevent 'catastrophic climate change'

Bianca Jagger highlighted the role the Earth's forests play in preventing climate change at the opening of Start@Kew.

Visiting the B&Q Forest Friendly exhibit, she said: "To prevent catastrophic climate change we must protect our forests and embrace a sustainable lifestyle."

A B&Q survey this week highlighted that retailers need to make consumers more aware of the source of timber. Results showed most consumers assumed all timber they buy is legal and 89 per cent claimed they were unclear what "responsibly-sourced timber" meant.

The B&Q Forest Friendly campaign encourages consumers to buy timber from well-managed, legal forests.
