Benn will meet industry leaders

Defra secretary Hilary Benn is set to discuss pesticides legislation and the state of the economy with industry leaders on Monday.

Benn will meet with officials from the All-party Parliamentary Gardening & Horticulture Group in a private session to discuss developments and concerns in the industry.

Top of the agenda is likely to be the forthcoming EU pesticides legislation, as well as the industry's contribution to the environment, and the current economic climate.

The talks will be attended by: BALI chief executive Sandra Loton-Jones; Landscape Institute chief executive Alastair McCapra; HTA director-general David Gwyther; National Horticultural Forum chairman Andrew Colquhoun; and MPs Brian Donohoe and Brian Jenkins.
