The firm is working on a £3.5m landscaping contract at the new Media City UK development in Manchester's Salford Quays, which will be home to the BBC from 2011.
English Landscapes is around 16 weeks into what is expected to be an 18-month project.
English Landscapes regional director for the North Lee Webster told HW the project was a major win for the firm.
"It's huge," he said. "You think the Olympics is big, but this rivals it. We are doing all the natural stone paving and roadways and we've got around 40 people on site."
The development boasts a piazza that includes hard landscaping as well as green spaces. The soft landscaping contract is expected to go out to tender shortly.
The firm has employed several apprentices specifically for the Media City UK site and hopes to retain them after the build.
"We are using it as a flagship for apprentices for the area," Webster explained. "We've integrated them with the teams that will give them the best experience."
