The University of East Anglia has chosen Etesia to ensure its grounds stay leaf free.
Based near Norwich, the university has 146.5ha of parkland with oak and birch trees.
Grounds maintenance manager Oliver Deeming, and his team have the job of keeping the grounds looking perfect but keeping noise to a minimum.
Previously grounds staff were using petrol engine leaf blowers which were much louder and could not be used during teaching hours.
However since he chose two Pellenc Arion battery-powered blowers and a Helion hedgecutter from the Oxfordshire-based manufacturer he has been able to clear leaves all day long.
He said: "On past experience with electrical equipment, I was a little sceptical about whether such quiet machines would actually have the power to do the job we wanted them to do but I don’t mind admitting that I have been proved wrong.
"In fact I would actually say it is more powerful than a conventional blower of the same size."
He added that having a multi-purpose power source in the battery back-pack was a real asset.
