Last September it was announced that fifty BALI members had won awards this year, out of 108 entries to the competition which is run in association with Horticulture Week and headline sponsor Green-tech.

Winners of Principal Awards, Special Awards and the coveted Grand Award will be announced during the awards ceremony taking place this afternoon.

The adjudication panel was chaired by Greg Allen, senior lecturer in Landscape Studies at Writtle College. Panelists spent the summer visiting the schemes and met at BALI Landscape House at the end of August to agree the list of winners. This year's entries were "truly outstanding", Allen said.

"The standard of workmanship achieved, whether in the domestic, commercial or public sectors, is inspiring and with so many excellent entries this year the task of selecting the Principal Award winners has taken hours of collective deliberation by the judging panel."

Judges were particularly impressed by the solid relationships that entrants had built with their clients, Allen added.

"Working closely with their clients to meet any challenges with workable solutions would appear to be BALI members' strong suit."
