East Malling Research fruit pathologist Dr Angela Berrie has been awarded the David Hilton Memorial Award for "services to the fruit industry in Kent and beyond".

She was presented with the award at the East Kent Fruit Society AGM on 28 January by society president Simon Brice.

Society chairman David Bradley said: "It is wonderful to be recognising the outstanding contribution that Angela has made to the fruit growing industry in Kent during her 21 years at East Malling."

A regular speaker at fresh produce industry events where her insight into pests and diseases is much in demand, Berrie continues to work part-time at EMR.
