Australian garden wins Hampton Court best in show

Essence of Australia, designed by Jim Fogarty for the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne has won best in show at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.

Landform built the garden and Hortus Loci supplied plants.

The victory follows the Australian Fleming's garden triumph at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013.

Stefano Passerotti and Vestra Wealth also won gold at Hampton Court. Jack Dunckley won silver gilt, while Squires took silver and Coolings, bronze.

Best Summer Garden and gold went to a Space to Connect and Grow, a creative outdoor space built with recycled materials.

The Conceptual Gardens this year each represented one of the seven deadly sins. Quarry of Silences, representing 'sloth' took the Best Conceptual Garden award and Gold.

Nilufer Danis, Amanda Miller and Katerina Rafaj also won golds in the category.

In the Your Garden, Your Budget category, Garden of Solitude, a sunken garden designed for relaxation and contemplation on a budget of £15,000 won Silver-Gilt and Best Your Garden, Your Budget.

Hambrooks and Chew Valley Trees also won silver gilts.
