Australian garden set to be presented at Hampton Court

Gold Medal-winning RHS Chelsea Flower Show team Jim Fogarty and Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are returning to the UK, this time to present a garden at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

The partnership led to a gold medal at Chelsea in 2011. Now RHS Hampton Court Palace will get a taste of Down Under with "The Essence of Australia" garden, influenced by the 15ha Australian Garden at Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, a division of the Melbourne gardens. The aim is to evoke Australians' love of the outdoors and the red sand landscapes of Victoria and the Northern Territories, with sponsors Quantas, Trailfinders, Tourism Victoria and Tourism Northern Territory.

Show manager Dave Green said Hampton Court visitors are a target market for travel sponsors. "HC has a real history of travel-related gardens because the demographic really fits. It's all good for the show that Chelsea designers are coming."
