Dr Gary Watson, head of research at the Morton Arboretum, Illinois and keynote speaker addressed the conference on "Unlimiting tree root growth" and "The quest for perfect roots".

Andy Hirons of Myerscough College, who made a presentation on his research into the drought adaptation of nursery stock prior to release into its environment, and Dr Glynn Percival of Bartlett Tree Experts, who discussed his current work on factors relating to transplanting success also feature on the DVD.

Dr Gary Watson’s primary research interest is in understanding how to maintain a healthy balance between the crown and root system of trees on difficult landscape sites. The Chicago metropolitan area around Morton Arboretum provides him with many opportunities for interaction with practitioners and practical research trials.
