The Amenity Forum is to mark the first anniversary of a special campaign it launched to drive up standards and promote best practice in pest control.
It is to host a conference at Leicester City Football Ground on 17 October, looking at the practical implications of recent policy changes such as the Sustainable Use Directive and Water Framework Directive and weed, pest and disease control.
"How can we practically and economically move to a more integrated approach to control?" said a spokesman. "How do we control invasive weeds? How do new rules on sprayer testing impact upon the sector?
"Do we really need to bother about such things as the Water Framework Directive? In specifying amenity contracts, what are the key risks and how can they be minimised?"
He said a key reason for the conference was to network and discuss future implications. The day will include a look at how the Leicester City grounds are maintained.
