Defra minister Rebecca Pow told HortWeek at RHS Chelsea Flower Show
bagged peat will be banned by 2024 but the Government is still going through consultation responses to make an announcement on grower peat use, which it wants to ban by 2028.
Pow hinted that there may be exclusions from the nursery use ban, as calls grow for an exemption for ericaceous growing.
