AG Goatham farm manager killed by falling tree

A man killed by a falling tree near Faversham in Kent at the weekend has been named as Ian Wall, a farm manager at top fruit grower AC Goatham & Sons.

Three ambulances and an air ambulance and were called to the scene of the accident, which police have said was not work-related, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

A police representative added that the death may have been partly due to "medical complications". An inquest will be conducted.

In a statement, AC Goatham & Sons said: "We are very saddened to hear of the death of our much loved colleague and friend Ian Wall who died in tragic circumstances over the weekend.

"Ian had worked with us for the past two years and was very much part of the AC Goatham & Son family, and will be deeply missed by all the team here. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends."
