Advice goes online for synthetic turf

The industry's first dedicated online advice service for synthetic turf maintenance has gone live with the aim of eliminating poor-quality pitches.

Developed by the Institute of Groundsmanship, Abacus Lighting, BLc Sports, FieldTurf Tarkett, Redexim Charterhouse and Replay Maintenance, the website offers easy-to-follow information on specification and maintenance.

Advice and video footage take the user through selection and construction and explain how effective training and maintenance can ensure longevity and cost-effectiveness of facilities.

Charterhouse Turf Machinery director Geoff Burgess said: "We realised that there was a lack of readily available information to empower the groundsman to make the right choices when caring for this new type of surface. The website will help to make dangerous and dilapidated pitches a thing of the past."
