62% of adults now visit garden centres

The HTA is set to announce that visits to garden centres are up 10% in the last four years.

Since 2006, the proportion of adults (age 15+) visiting garden centres has increased from 52% in 2006 to 62% in 2010 across all age ranges.

The topline data of the latest Garden Industry Monitor Special report, to be launched at the HTA Garden Futures conference at the Barbican on 13 October, precedes information on differentiation that garden centres have and the factors that set them apart from other retailers and outlets.

The report has information on consumer perceptions of garden centres, consumer reactions of garden centres’ promotion, consumer reactions to the products and categories in garden centres, pricing in garden centres and the environment in garden centres.

The Garden Industry Monitor Special report is designed to help inform retailers' decisions around appropriate new product and category introductions, promotional and pricing strategies, and the design of the retail environment itself.
