Grass weed control - Aramo (EAMU 2015-0454) can be used over a wide range of outdoor ornamental subjects to control annual meadow grass.
Sciarid flies - Maintain applications of Hypoaspis spp. or Macrocheles mites or Atheta beetles on heated propagation beds that remain above 15 degsC throughout the winter.
Leaf spots - Apply Octave, Rovral WG (2011-3200) or Switch to protected crops vulnerable to fungal leaf spotting that can overwinter on evergreens, plant debris and dead leaves hanging on deciduous crops.
Mites - Apply Apollo 50SC (EAMU 2015-2102) to outdoor crops including Aesculus, Alnus, Fraxinus, Sorbus and Tilia that have been attacked by spider mites, rust mites, eriophyid and tarsonemid mites this season.
Needle cast - Prevent damage on conifers by applying Bravo 500 (EAMU 2011-1130) to outdoor crops or Octave, Serenade ASO (EAMUs required), Signum (EAMU 2012-2141) or Switch.
Grandfather Rights - The rules are changing and this exemption will cease on 26 November 2015.
Hydrangeas - Expose crops to the first frosts to promote flower bud initiation.
Slugs - Apply ferric phosphate-based pellets to vulnerable plants, especially during wet weather.
Phoma - Still evident on Ceanothus, Viburnum and Vinca. Control damage using Octave, Signum (EAMU 2012-2141) or Switch.
Choisya - Long periods of wet compost encourage root rot diseases. First signs are patchy dieback or sudden plant collapse. Choisyas are prone to Pythium, Phytophthora and Fusarium so keep them on the drier side this autumn. Drench affected plants within their irrigation regime with Fenonemal, Previcur Energy (EAMU 2011-1557) or Subdue. Biologically active products include Prestop, T34 Biocontrol (EAMU 2012-1118) or Trianum P.
Weeds - Apply products containing diquat or Shark (EAMU 2008-0552) to knock back small annual broadleaved weeds on non-crop areas. Tank-mix Chikara and glyphosate to control vegetation on non-crop areas. Some plant species tolerate Chikara soil applications.
Residual herbicides - Apply residual herbicides such as Flexidor 125 (EAMUs required) and Venzar Flowable now over crops where weeds were problematic this season.
