Yorkshire nursery launches guide to specimen plants

Johnsons of Whixley has launched a free publication on how specimen plants can add value to projects.

The brochure provides guidance on how to work effectively with UK-grown specimen plants and highlights the Johnsons range, which includes Photinia, Laurus and Choisya. Joint managing director Andrew Richardson said: “More and more landscape architects are choosing specimen plants because of the value they add to projects.” Johnsons produces 200,000 plants each year, stocking 100 specimen species and more than 400 varieties suited to the UK climate. By giving an idea of the different stock sizes, from two-litre to 45-litre specimens, readers are given an insight into the kind of impact each can have within a design. - Copies of the brochure are available free to landscape professionals direct from the nursery.
