The Level 3 Extended Diploma students have been helping estate staff with the continued restoration of the Walled Garden.
While camping in tents and learning how to cook their own meals from food available on the estate, they assisted in the maintenance of the beautiful Parterre, plaited garlic in the Walled Garden, weeded, sowed seeds and tied in vines.
Simon Watkins, section leader for land-based courses at Writtle College, said: "This is our sixth year at Holkham and the transformation is amazing; we're very proud to be part of such a fantastic project."
Students were taken on a tour of the extensive grounds and were able to see the range of tasks required on such a big estate.
Head gardener Phillip Oldham said: "The students always seem to have fun here and, with the tutors help, they work really well. We enjoy supporting them here at Holkham and giving them an historic garden in which to practise the skills they have learnt at college."
