The win marks the sixth time Willberby’s has taken the top accolade at the event which is run in association with Horticulture Week and headline sponsor Green-tech.

This year’s event saw a record-breaking 956 members of the landscape industry gather to celebrate the very best projects from across the UK in what is the 40th anniversary of the premier industry scheme.

Willerby’s landscaping for an area to the north of King’s Cross station that has seen enormous investment to create a vibrant new city quarter has been instrumental in helping to market the mixed-use development which has attracted leading global companies who have located their headquarters there.

Judging panel chair, Greg Allen said:

"The landscaping works were complex and challenging and it is apparent that the huge success of the scheme is down to Willerby’s emotional as well as operational investment to ensure it is the best that it could possibly be.  As an example of public realm landscaping it is outstanding."

The Special Award for Design & Build was won by Northumbrian Landscaping for the second year in succession and the Affiliate Exceptional Service Award was won by Harrod UK for the third year in succession.  A full list of all Principal and Special Awards presented is below.

This year’s Awards ceremony was hosted by broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth. Opening the event was BALI chief executive officer Wayne Grills. Horticulture Week editor Kate Lowe and BALI chairman Paul Downer also addressed the audience at the event where VIP guests included Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at Defra, The Lord Gardiner of Kimble and Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Gardening and Horticulture Group, The Baroness Fookes DBE.
