The Vincent Pro Bat Box is designed by bat researcher Colin J Morris to increase the number of available habitats in the UK.
The UK's bat population is on the decline because of factors linked with a rise in development, a lack of roosting sites, feeding habitats, flight links and an increase in artificial lighting. As bats do not build their own roosting sites, it is vital that manufactured boxes are created so that the number of bats increases, says Wildlife World.
The box has a cluster zone of three vertical entrance champers in various sizes, and is created to allow a variety of bats to fit inside. It is designed with a rough landing surface and ladder, which allows bats to attach and access the box efficiently. The box needs minimal cleaning, as all droppings will fall into the ground.
The FSC timber bat boxes are created so that they can be moved seasonally, allowing them to be moved to cooler areas during the winter when bats are found to be hibernating, and sunnier areas when heat can be absorbed.
