Weedingtech success boon for Foamstream

Weedingtech is claiming great success for its Foamstream product as a moss and algae killer following feedback from local authorities.

Multiple councils have said the product - which combines hot water and foam to coat and kill weeds - solves their moss problems quickly and painlessly.

The company says the product is more effective than any other moss or algae product on the market, including herbicides. Foamstream is particularly effective on moss because the roots sit on the surface. The foam blankets the moss and roots, keeping the heat in long enough to kill it and stopping it from returning for at least 12 months.

The American War Cemetery in Cambridge reported strong results after one application of Foamstream, while success has also been reported by Rainfords Contracting Services while treating moss beside the Manchester Ship Canal as part of a £90m initiative to restore the area.

Rainfords director Richard Rainford said the product is "a good step forward for the contracting industry", especially as it is safe to use in public and near water.
