The crop protection supervisor was the recipient of the Peter Rowlandson Award at the West Sussex Nursery Stock Discussion Group AGM last Friday. He was presented with a cup and a cheque for £200.
Munro was given the accolade for his report on the herbicide trials at Walberton, which was used to compile the HDC Grower Handbook.
Discussion group chairman elect Graham Bryant said:
"Supporting our local nurseries is key to what we are about. That is why we are so pleased to be the custodians of the Peter Rowlandson Memorial Fund. Peter was a great nursery person, mentor and educator, well known to many here in West Sussex."
The award is named after Peter Rowlandson, who was a well-respected figure in the Sussex horticulture industry. Rowlandson lectured at Brinsbury College and worked in the commercial nursery sector, latterly as a consultant.
