Business consultant Paul Stevens said: "Terms are being discussed with Wyevale and Dobbies and there are other independents with deals on the table. These will be a mix of internal and external concessions ranging from 850 to 1,300sq ft, each with live cats ready for rehoming. These are called satellite homing and information centres."
The first, an internal concession, has opened at Newnham Court in Kent. Cats Protection, the UK's largest feline welfare charity, is also building its own units to make use of outdoor space in car parks and planterias. The units will allow people to see previously abandoned or neglected cats that have been prepared for rehoming.
