Turf contractors join forces to target overseas sports work

Two sports-turf contractors have teamed up to try to edge out rivals in the increasingly competitive area of pitch construction, upkeep and renovation and target work abroad.

Clive Richardson Ltd and Premier Pitches joined forces to form Clive Richardson (International). The two businesses will operate independently with existing clients but come together to seek out clients abroad.

Director Clive Richardson said the new set-up wanted to provide a fibre-mixing and installation service worldwide and would promote itself at the BTME show in Harrogate on 24-26 January.

Premier Pitches managing director Carl Pass said he had been looking to work alongside a major contractor in the UK for some time.

"Our new collaboration will allow us to compete in a larger marketplace against the bigger sports turf contracting companies," he said.
