Toro launches web service for buyers to compare and contrast the firm's kit

Kit supplier Toro has launched an online service called Leaderboard for customers to submit comments on their favourite - or otherwise - bit of machinery.

"Toro users and interested turf professionals can share and compare these independent testimonials on machines spanning our mowers, aerators, utility vehicles, sprayers and irrigation systems," said a spokeswoman.

"It’s good for those making purchasing decisions.

"Leaderboard can offer sound-bites, independent comment or a feel for what professionals across the country are saying about sprayers. Importantly, users submit comments freely so it’s a breath of fresh air for those seeking comments straight from the horse’s mouth."

She added: "You can also view the comments gathered on a map, handy if you need to speak to someone in a particular location.

"And as more customers add their voice, I’m sure it will unearth potential user stories and talking points."

Early comments from golf course managers and technicians, from Coventry to Quebec, include: "Maintenance-wise it is very easy to set cut and height and you don't need a battery drill to set the height: all over a green-keeper-friendly machine," posted by an engineer at Carnoustie Golf Links, Angus, on the Greensmaster Flex 18/21 pedestrian mower.
