Top 30 Ranking of UK's biggest ornamental growers and plant suppliers

Horticulture Week has compiled its first chart of the UK's top 30 ornamental growers and plant suppliers.

Warwickshire-based Newey Group has the UK's biggest turnover in the sector
Warwickshire-based Newey Group has the UK's biggest turnover in the sector

It shows how consolidation has raised Newey group and Neame Lea to the top of the table, but also demonstrates how few players in the UK market have broken out of the small and medium-sized enterprise bracket. However, most growers on the list are expanding, either by acquisition or organic growth. Many have retail arms and import stock to supply to garden centres as well as growing. All the figures are from Companies House or supplied by the companies themselves.
