Thousands of Santa Greenfingers fundraisers at Victoria Park

Some 4,000 Santas, including a group raising money for Greenfingers, have been running for charity in London's Victoria Park.

The Santa Run 2015 saw industry figures including HTA chief executive Carol Paris, Suttons' Chris Ramsden and Gardman's Lolly Lee don Santa suits to run 5km or 10km round the east London park.

The Greenfingers runners raised thousands to build children's hospice gardens.

Horticulture Week's Matthew Appleby was first home.

Forthcoming Greenfingers fundraisers are Garden Re-Leaf Day on Friday 18th March 2016 (, Thames Path walk – Friday 18th March 2016 and Parachute Jump Day – Saturday 24th September 2016.

Meanwhile, Santa got accidentally locked inside Wyevale Garden Centre's Endsleigh centre at the weekend.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The security firm went and unlocked him so he could be reunited with his sleigh."

A representative of the garden centre added: "We are saddened to hear the news that Father Christmas was left in the centre for 15 minutes as he is a valued ambassador to Wyevale Garden Centres and any hindrance to, or delay in his journey to deliver everyone's presents in time for Christmas is a huge concern to our community.

"We can confirm that Father Christmas is well and will return to the Grotto for kids to visit on Saturday."
