Chief executive Dave Lewis said: "Together, these sales allow us to place even greater focus on our core UK business."
Tesco's first quarter trading statement, issued on 23 June, saw group like-for-like sales growth of 0.9 per cent.
Tesco sold Dobbies for £217m in June to Andrew Bracey's Midlothian Capital Partners and Hattington Capital, which is led by Barney Burgess, who ran Tesco.com for five years.
Tesco bought the Dobbies chain for £155.6m in 2007 and doubled its size with new builds to 35 centres.
Lewis said: "We do believe this agreement will give Dobbies a bright future, while allowing our UK retail business to focus on its core strengths."
Hattington has invested in student properties and Crussh juice bars.
