The new division, Playforce Parks, will have a new team of specialist relationship managers and designers.
Playforce works with clients on curriculum-linked playgrounds and play opportunities, ranging from climbing trails to gardening areas where kids can connect with nature. It is an approved supplier to many local authorities in the UK.
TCL Group hopes the new division will be able to leverage these relationships, as well as marketing the new service to community groups. Playforce will also build on the local authority relationships of other businesses within the wider TCL Group, such as grounds maintenance contractor Burleys.
Playforce Parks will supply its own equipment, alongside play consultancy, design and repair services. Project installation, including surfacing, will be carried out in house, which the company says will be more cost effective than other providers.
Commercial director Oscar Sorabjee said: "We are certain that our new offering of end-to-end services from installation or renewal to repair by directly employed teams will be well received – not least because it reduces the cost of installation at a time of extreme budgetary pressure on local authorities.
"Our Playforce brand has an excellent reputation throughout the play industry, while other parts of the wider TCL Group, such as our Burleys business, work extensively with local authorities, parks teams and planning departments across the UK."
