Tanaka THT 210S

At 4.6kg this is a light machine, but look at the power it generates.

It’s a 22cc engine and it produces 0.17kW of power for each kilogram of the trimmer’s weight. The tester can hardly believe it. Nor can he believe how easy it is to start. This machine is fitted with Tanaka’s own Easy S-Start system for effortless operation. “It’s a spring-loaded starter mechanism so it’s one pull and away you go,” he says.
There’s something else we immediately notice about this trimmer. It’s got a lot of teeth. The result is a fast cut and a top-quality cut on box and privet. When it’s running, the Tanaka Sound Reduction System helps lessen the noise. The tester does not report any vibration.
“See how easy it tops out,” he says. He is over six feet tall, which helps, but he is referring to the combination of the lack of weight and the twist handle that swivels through 180? to make it easier to operate and produce an even finish.
The THT210S is just one of 10 models in the Tanaka line-up.
