Sustainable Lyptus hardwood got the royal seal of approval for Monaco Garden at Chelsea

Commissioned by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and designed by Sarah Eberle the Gold medal-winning garden featured the eucalyptus hybrid in the form of Lyptus Decking, fascias and a cantilevered roof.

Grown on managed plantations in Brazil the eucalyptus trees used to manufacture Lyptus are harvested within 16 years compared to 60 years for many tropical trees.

Sarah Eberle commented: "Lyptus Decking provided the ideal warmth of colour we needed to recreate the Mediterranean environment, but importantly for the ethos of the garden, it is backed up by proven environmental credentials."

Woodlink UK director Cyril Williams said the selection of Lyptus Decking was a testament to its beauty and sustainability.
