The short survey covers allotment size, shape, cost and allocation, how they are managed (financially and physically) and what plans are in place for their future.
Previous surveys have shown a big drop in the number of local authorities planning to increase allotment provision - from 64 per cent in 2012 to 48.5 per cent in 2013. Surveys must be completed by 31 July - see www.surveymonkey.com/r/apseallotments.
APSE provides one-day training courses for allotment managers, covering statutory responsibilities, best practice, how to deal with on-site problems and discussions of challenges facing the sector. The next course runs in Wolverhampton on 10 September.
