Can you suggest a bulk supplier of bamboo canes?

The Bamboo Supply Company (tel: 0191 417 2915) supplies bamboo poles in diameters of 20/25mm, 30/35mm, 40/45mm, 50/55mm, 70/80mm, 100/120mm and 120/150mm and in lengths up to 4m.

In addition to poles, the firm also supplies a range of bamboo fencing, screens and ornamental products of interest to garden designers.

If you are in the Midlands, Wales or the northern Home Counties, you could also try BHGS of Evesham (tel: 01386 444100). This horticultural supplier has been involved in the importation of Chinese canes for many years.

The majority of these canes are sold by weight per 100 canes, although in some cases the company can procure canes with a specific millimetre butt size. The canes are normally supplied in bales of 2,000, 1,000, 500 or 250.
