Stihl MS661 C-M

An advance in forestry's heavy-duty chainsaw class, the MS661 C-M delivers more power and torque than its predecessor, the MS660, but fuel consumption is lower and maintenance is simpler.

At its heart is the 91.1cc (5.4kW) 2-MIX engine and self-tuning M-Tronic technology to optimise performance by self-tuning the engine, while cutting emissions by up to 70 per cent and fuel consumption by 20 per cent.

Using components such as a stainless steel muffler, weight has been kept down to 7.4kg. The saw comes with a 28in (71cm) Rollomatic ES Light guide bar as standard and new double bumper spikes ensure cutting precision. Raised guides on the fan housing assist direction control. Prices start at £990 + VAT for the saw fitted with a 50cm guide bar.
