Steve Homer succeeds Neil Bragg as the chairman of BOPP

BOPP appointed Steve Homer as its new chairman at its AGM last week. He replaced Neil Bragg, who stood down in April to become chairman at the HDC.

Homer has been a BOPP Technical Advisory Committee member for six years. He thanked Bragg for his work on the GlobalGAP revision.

He said: "BOPP has good financial foundations and as we are in a strong position, we can choose the path along which we go. In the past we have been told which direction to go in. We will have debate among our membership, so they can decide where to take the scheme."

Homer recently stepped back from his full time role of corporate responsibility manager at Flamingo Holdings to work as an independent private standards consultant.

Previously, Homer worked in sales and technical roles for a number of UK flower, plant and bulb producers following study at Writtle College.
