Squire's begins search for new managing director

Squire's Garden Centres is open to applicants from all areas of retail, including internal and from other garden centres as it looks for a new managing director.

Director Sarah Squire said: "We are passionate about our family horticultural business and a truly exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of the forthcoming retirement of our current managing director Dennis Espley in April 2016.

"The role of managing director at Squire’s offers the opportunity to play a key role in formulating and delivering the strategy and vision for our business going forward.

"The role offers an interesting, challenging and very varied work life as we strive to provide the best in horticultural retailing, service and standards whilst growing the business, looking for new opportunities, developing our people and playing a positive role in the local community.

"We are seeking a person of integrity and ability to lead our business confidently towards the opportunities and challenges of the future."

She added: "It's a big change for Squire's, and also an opportunity. Dennis has been with us for over 30 years, first as operations manager, then as operations director and now as managing director. We're very open to whoever puts their hat in the ring."

The post is advertised in Horticulture Week magazine and on our jobs website.
