Spreadmaster 88

This is the latest spreader to join the Allen Power stable and is a professional model with 50kg hopper capacity. It's also a dream to use.

We especially like the hopper design on the 88. It’s wide, so it’s easy to load, and there is a spill-proof rim to keep the fertiliser safe. The extra-wide wheelbase provides perfect stability while filling.
The large 33cmx13cm pneumatic tyres leave no marks in our soft turf and contribute to the easy pushing of this spreader. An adjustable handlebar gives the perfect balance and, along with good handgrips, means the operator is really comfortable.
“This is a very nice machine. It’s a quality, professional spreader. Despite the weight of fertiliser, the unit is still easy to manoeuvre and is extremely comfortable to push,” says our tester.
Setting the rate is simple using the dial. The testers are also impressed with the quality of spread. “At a good walking pace it gives a lovely, even spread over two metres,” says the tester.
The 88 is not a throwaway — this spreader is definitely built to last. And it certainly looks easy enough to maintain. It has a stainless-steel frame, stainless-steel axle and enclosed metal gears. Providing it is cleaned regularly to remove any chemical residues, this unit should spread for many years to come.
