Special Award - Best Newcomer to BALI

Award Winner: Bartholomew Landscaping

Project: Of the six categories entered, Bartholomew has won four awards - two as principal winners and two as winners - and was named winner of a special award.

This new BALI member has many years of experience working at the high end of the landscape market.

Winning four awards with two Principal awards and a Special Design & Build award, Bartholomew Landscapes has raised the bar of quality and excellence across the board with this impressive result.


Special Award - Roof Garden

Designer: Hyland Edgar Driver Landscape Architects

The prestigious development of private apartments in the centre of Cardiff includes large semi-enclosed courtyard spaces, bordered by decked private balcony spaces. The remainder was attractive communal open space with tree groups, lawn areas and shrub and herbaceous planting. All the soft landscaping was established and healthy looking and the hard landscaping was well constructed and of a high quality. Despite challenging access issues, this is a very impressive scheme.

This design and build children's play area in a built up area of south London was a revelation. The quality of the materials and the workmanship complemented the high-quality design, producing a complete scheme much appreciated by the staff and pupils. The professionalism of the company and the helpful nature of the staff working on the scheme were praised by the client.
