Woodberry Park is a luxury development in Finsbury Park, north London, located on the banks of the New River and West Reservoir. The landscaping required design development with the architect and included private courtyard spaces together with public walkways along the river that are swathed in drift planting and mature specimen trees.

The focal point for the scheme is a spectacular cascading water feature with private courtyard spaces and views of and public walkways to the wetland reserve, which was recently opened for the first time in more than 200 years — by Sir David Attenborough. This project is a mixed-use development for Berkeley Homes in Hackney.

The architects were instructed to design a very high-specification landscape solution for the site. The scheme comprised large quantities of paved and pedestrian areas to accommodate walkways and communal areas. The programme for the project ran from its initial works during February 2014 through to February 2016.

The judges commented: "The regeneration of this north-east London estate includes extensive soft landscaping between and around apartment blocks and alongside the two huge reservoirs adjacent to the development. The many standard trees planted are healthy and thriving, and plants in the swales and along the river walkways look wonderful. The contractor has executed a flawless scheme of exceptional quality."
