Soft Landscaping Construction - Cost between £300,000-£1.5 million

Principal Award Winner: Graduate Gardeners
Project: Charlton Kings, Cheltenham
Client: Spirax Sarco
Designer: Stuart Gibbs

The standard overall is extremely high, as befits the corporate headquarters that sits within these beautifully landscaped grounds.

Judges' comments: This is, quite simply, a stunning piece of soft landscape work carried out by a very accomplished team. The turf is beautiful with all lawn edging very 'tight', all plants are healthy and the specimen trees throughout have been planted perfectly.

Award Winners

Gavin Jones
Project: Gateway House, Purfleet, Essex
Client: High House Production Park

High survival rates were essential for valuable specimen pear, apple and cherry trees during clearance of this derelict and overgrown farmstead to develop a walled garden and orchard for the Royal Opera House stage production complex.

J Mallinson (Ormskirk)
Project: Wembley Stadium, London
Client: Wembley National Stadium, The Football Association
Designer: John Mallinson (Ormskirk), PSD Sportsturf Design (NW)

This logistically challenging job to replace the pitch was carried out in record time. The contractor installed a Desso GrassMaster fibre system.

Coworth Park sits in 240 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside and the landscaping works at this five-star luxury retreat have been carried out to a very high standard.

Judges' comments: The wild flower meadow was jaw-droppingly beautiful - just one aspect of this scheme that the contractor has implemented in exemplary fashion.
