"They incorporate polypropylene industrial waste and post-consumer recycled high-density polyethylene from a UK waste stream," the company said.
"They are good for the environment as they drastically reduce reliance on virgin petrochemicals."
The mushroom tray range combines polypropylene industrial waste, recycled high-density polyethylene and a mineral filler leaving 50 per cent virgin polypropylene content.
Sharpak environmental manager Trefor Owen said: "We have introduced recycled polypropylene that includes the first use of food-grade plastic recycled from the UK waste stream. Fuelled by the needs of customers and environmental considerations, we will continue to investigate increasing post-consumer recyclate content."
