Seed packet company Dobson & Crowther to close

Administrators for Dobson & Crowther say they have failed to find a buyer for the firm which is now set to close.

Christopher Ratten and Lindsey Cooper of Baker Tilly were appointed administrators on 16 June 2015 of Dobson & Crowther.

They said: "Following their appointment the company continued to trade, the aim being to complete existing work in progress and to establish whether there were any parties interested in acquiring the business as a going concern.

"Having spent the last week liaising with interested parties the administrators have concluded that it will not be possible to achieve such as a sale and as a consequence it is likely that the business will cease trading in the next few days.

"Unfortunately a number of redundancies have been made over the last few weeks and the remaining staff have been made aware that in the event of the company ceasing trading that all staff will have to be made redundant.

"Baker Tilly continues to work with the former employees and relevant government departments to ensure that the former staff receive their entitlements from the National Insurance Fund."

Suttons, Mr Fothergill's and T&M were among customers.
